Russian climate and lifestyle are vastly different from what I was used to in my home country. The cold winters, for instance, were a shock to my system, especially since I wasn't prepared with the right clothing or heating solutions. Additionally, the cultural norms and customs took time to adjust to, which often led to misunderstandings and conflicts.
Studying abroad is expensive enough as it is; however, when you're struggling with language barriers and cultural differences, it becomes even more challenging financially speaking. My scholarship didn't cover everything I needed; therefore, I had to work part-time jobs that left me little time for studies or personal life.
The accumulation of all these difficulties finally took its toll on me mentally and emotionally. Feeling isolated from friends back home due to the time difference made matters worse than they already were by themselves.I tried seeking help but found no solace in talking about my problems because of the language barrier again. The weight of my mistakes became too much for me handle in the end; it led me down a path of depression that ultimately resulted in tragedy.
I wish there could have been some way out before things reached such a point.
This story serves as an important reminder: never rush into making decisions without considering all possible outcomes.
It's crucial not just consider your passion but also think about whether you can adapt well under new circumstances.
Now if only someone could turn back time...
